The Experience of Camp
Experiential learning in a summer camp does more than just teach, it creates a unique and memorable atmosphere for a camper that often is in sharp contrast to his or her daily non-camp life. Former campers often reminisce about the intensity and vibrancy of their time at camp. Such intensity, particularly in social interactions and religious worship can be transformative. The effects of camp persist long beyond the summer and often influence the course of campers’ lives.
